Currently the products are being tested by our expert jury. To make sure everyone gets an in-depth hands-on experience we teamed up with Mailboxes Etc. from Garching, who make sure the products get to the jury members and back to us in time.
At the #she is outdoors office preparations are right now running for the final jury meeting and our Award event in Interlaken, Switzerland from the 27th to the 31st of July 2021. Therefor we have been to beautiful Interlaken a few weeks ago for content creation for the hybrid event and the award ceremony. We also found an amazing event location and are now looking forward to setting everything up.
A tiny overview about the most important parts of our event for you:
There will be the first „real“ face to face jury meeting on thursday the 29th of July. The final testing and evaluating of the products will take place on an extended hike nearby the event location.
The following day is going to be the decision day, the winning products will be chosen by the jury. In the meantime our press and social media partners will get to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Interlaken on a very nice hike.
The most important day will be Saturday, the 31st of July: This day the live stream will take place with our amazing host, Johanna Mühlbeyer from Equalate Sports. It will start with an official opener in the morning and some cool interactive challenges for everyone at home and on location. Then there will be a general introduction of the WOMEN‘S GEAR AWARD #she is outdoors summer 2021 itself followed by some interesting workshops and key note speaches. In the afternoon the award ceremony will take place with an introduction of the expert jury members and of course the nominated products. A nice „fireside chat“ will close the event in the evening. Our event manager Maria Müller from mecMILLER is all about making the event a fun experience for those at home and on location. Can’t wait to see you there!
The RAB MYTHIC G jacket has excited all of the jury members. Extremely lightweight, and warm and demonstrating a visible shift towards ecodesign principles. Trims and extras are reduced to a necessary minimum resulting in a garment that is effortlessly functional and feels like a cloud. The highlight for the judges was the perfect engineering of the garment with every point being evidently well considered. The high-end pattern-making allows a flattering silhouette for every female body shape with the opportunity for absolute freedom of movement. An example of this is the sleeve construction that adapts to various arm lengths and promotes 360-degree movement. Despite the sample not being the correct size for all the judges, it seemed to fit everyone perfectly. The inner titanium coating combined with stitch-through construction allows perfect chamber alignment for the 1000 fill power down from Europe. The body mapping concept whereby titanium is not used underneath the armpits, wrists and on the inside, the upper part of the hood provides perfect thermoregulation and prevents overheating. Head Judge, Alexa Dehmel said ‘having been head judge for apparel in ISPO award in the female segment and four seasons with #sheisoutdoors, this is one of the most innovative down jackets I have seen so far’. The jury would like to honour the effort the product development team has put into this piece, producing a truly futureproof garment.
