Boulderers? Aren‘t those the guys who are hanging on their 45 degree overhanging boulder wall in dark cellars and train for hard outdoor climbing projects? Wait a minute - bouldering really can‘t be reduced to that! More and more girls and boys join this wonderful outdoor sport and start to train in the bouldering gyms, which are sprouting up like mushrooms everywhere. People meet to chat, get to know new people and work together on solutions for all the colourful routes. For us, the nice thing about bouldering is that, in addition to raw power, a large portion of creativity, body awareness and flexibility are required here. Bouldering is probably one of the most versatile sports which doesn’t cast a spell over any particular group. In the bouldering gym, old and young, big and small meet - gender doesn‘t matter. So, what could be more obvious than developing a bouldering shoe that is perfectly tailored to this wonderful, versatile sport? With the Veloce, SCARPA designed a bouldering shoe that is slightly wider in the forefoot and thus has an extremely comfortable fit. It is produced in a men‘s version and a women‘s version, which differ not only in colour. The women‘s version „Veloce Wmn“ uses a last specially tailored to the women‘s foot, which is cut narrower and has a less voluminous heel. SCARPA‘s PAF system is used on the heel, which by interrupting the elastic strap ensures an even better fit on the Achilles heel. The extremely soft S-72 sole rubber was developed in collaboration with an Italian company especially for climbing walls and climbing holds.

What makes your product a perfectly developed PIECE OF GEAR FOR WOMEN?

Stiff and aggressive shoes for small footholds? That is not really what you need for bouldering anymore. The style of bouldering, and also the audience changed a lot in the last few years. The style is much more movement-based and the climbing holds in gyms become bigger and often slopier. We take bouldering a chance to meet our friends, to learn new movements and to have fun together. Therefore we need a shoe which is not hard and painful to wear, but a shoe which is incredibly sensitive, more comfortable and extremely sticky. In addition, the shoe is handmade by SCARPA, in Asolo (Italy) and it‘s possible to resole the product serveral times. Here we go – Veloce Wmn is what you are looking for!
