We asked the Brands a few questions about their product and their company.
This is what they told us:

Jam-packed with tech and built with recycled materials, the Women’s Solar Ultra 3 embodies Rab’s drive to create more sustainable gear at the pinnacle of performance. Fast drying, lightweight and robust with heat reflecting TILT technology, it offers excellent warmth for its weight. Its narrow, tapered mummy shape further reduces bulk and weight. The women’s specific fit is slightly shorter in length, narrower at the shoulders, and wider at the hips for improved efficiency.

Featuring a triple layer of 100% recycled Stratus™ Eco insulation arranged in a concertina shape, the Solar Ultra mimics the performance of down in a lightweight, featherless package. Reducing radiant heat loss by up to 15%, the built-in TILT technology substantially improves thermal insulation without compromising pack size, breathability, or weight. The elastic internal quilting brings the lining and insulation closer to the user. The localised quilting means that the stitching which holds the insulation in place has been minimised to reduce the chance of cold spots.

It has a ¾ length main zip with a baffle along its length and an adjustable neck baffle to keep the heat in. Completed with a tough, 20D, recycled polyester Atmos™ outer, the Solar Ultra is the definitive synthetic sleeping bag for alpine use or lightweight bike and backpacking missions.

"Tell us more about your COMPANY / PRODUCT SUSTAINABILITY... "

At Rab, we’re applying the lessons learned in the outdoors to the serious challenges facing our world. From climate change and the pressure on precious natural resources, to fairness and opportunity for all. We aim higher, and we find a better way. We pride ourselves on producing high quality, hard-wearing technical clothing and equipment that’s designed to last. Our commitment goes beyond production.

We are driving industry wide change, working hard to address the big challenges facing the outdoor apparel and equipment sector. We lead by example.

All our strategic manufacturing partners are audited by third parties against the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct - at least every two years. Furthermore, being a Fair Wear member, we are working with Fair Wear and other brands to challenge, influence, and develop the working conditions at our factories. Each year we develop a plan with Fair Wear and our manufacturers, targeting efforts to maximise improvements across our supply chain.

We are a certified Climate Neutral Company since 2020 and aim to reach Net Zero by 2030.

Since our inception, we’ve been repairing kit at our own Rab Service Centres so it can see another adventure and not landfill.

Within our CSR strategy, we’re constantly increasing the amount of products with recycled fabrics (from 9% recycled fabrics in 2019 to 63% recycled fabrics in 2021 / from 6% recycled down in 2019 to 53% recycled down in 2021).

We use the world’s first GRS-certified recycled down and were an early adopter of the Responsible Down Standard.

Equip has committed to be fluorocarbon free by AW2024.

Equip has stopped buying silk in 2021. Existing stock will be used up to avoid it being sent to landfill.

We’re founding members of The Single Use Plastics Project set up by the European Outdoor Group, and we are constantly minimising our packaging.

Our UK office and warehouse are powered by 100% renewable electricity.

Simply put, sustainability is in our DNA.
