About LaMunt: “Care” is a key element in our product development and a part of LaMunt’s DNA from the very first day. It’s not a distant goal; it is about conscious decisions we take on an everyday level. This starts with our partnerships: our products are sewn in audited factories that are committed to fair working conditionsand high social standards. LaMunt is a member of the NGO Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), an expert organization in the promotion and improvement of working conditions in the textile industry. Already in our first year we obtained the FWF’s Leader status, reserved for brands that demonstrate serious commitment in choosing factories carefully and cooperating with them for improving social standards in the workplace. You find a complete overview of our Oberalp approach here: https://www.oberalp.com/en/sustainability/fairfactories As a brand, we believe every decision we make matters. While bringing our first collection to life it was obvious that we would select materials carefully and use certified fabrics or test them regarding our strict Oberalp Chemical Policy to make sure that only safe chemicals are used in our products. We are also committed to keeping our environmental impact to a minimum: our collections are made with materials that do not use PFCs, and we have a range of recycled and natural materials. *More details on the cashmere filling:

The use of recycled cashmere filling as insulation instead of down or synthetic padding for mountain sports apparel is the biggest innovation. We use recycled cashmere to fill our insulation jackets for technical and sustainability performance. This high-quality material is the perfect combination for our desire to use natural and recycled materials that ensure thermal comfort and breathability. A new exclusive, upcycled insulation made through a process that is less impactful in terms of energy consumption, waste production, and water usage. While using one of the most valuable natural materials in fashion, we contribute to reducing our environmental impact. By creating mountain sports clothing from recycled cashmere, we’re redefining luxury and post-industrial waste, and showing that a different system is possible. This cashmere filling comes from recovered scraps of fabrics that are upcyled from the industrial production,

and requires no additional virgin material. The whole process is mechanical and does not involve any chemicals. It is also less impactful in terms of energy consumption, waste production, water usage, CO2 emissions. Our partner Imbotex does a treatment in order to make the paddings washable that is eco-friendly too and chlorine free. LUXEPAD® , which is is a new frontier for an ecologically responsible fashion, giving new purpose to otherwise discarded precious materials. The insulation comes from post-industrial (pre-consumer) recovered scraps of camelhair and cashmere fabrics that are upcycled from the production of overcoats. These fabrics come from new productions, so they are free of harmful substances, such as azo-dyes, formaldehyde and APEOs.

"We know there are FUN FACTS and / or a BACKSTORY! Please share!"

The first prototype of this style was a classic vest, but when we did fit it, we didn‘t think it was special enough, it was something missing. That is when we added the cap sleeve to make it more femminine and different compared to what is on the market. And it proved to be the right decision as it is a great look and well appreciated by our LaMunt Crew testers!
