The ECCO SOLICE group is a line of winter products specifically designed for the needs of women. In order to provide comfort straight out of the box, the ECCO SOLICE is built on a last that is designed based on the study and our experiencee of the women‘s foot - following the contours and translating this pattern into the form of the footbed to ensure that foot support is built into the core of the shoe. COMPANY: By being in control over our own supply chain, we as ECCO can continuously improve our environmental impact and can ensure ethical treatment of our employees – all the way from the Gold-Rated tanneries down to the retail locations. Many initiatives have been and are currently being rolled out, including the use of water-saving and -recycling systems, installment of solar panels and production of our own biogas to reduce the consumption of natural gas.
With innovation part of ECCO’s DNA, we also takes bigger strides to shake up this sometimes traditional industry. The highlight of the innovation efforts is our DriTan technology, which significantly reduces the water consumption of the tanning process, with as much as 25 million liters of water saved annually in one tannery alone. However, this is yet one step with new innovative procedures currently being developed to further reduce our water and chemical usage.
Mentioned in ECCO’s Annual Report 2020: “ continuation of ECCO‘s efforts over many years to constantly create a more sustainable footprint, efforts were taken one step further and a number of ambitious environmental targets were set. By 2030, ECCO aims to run on renewable energy and in its tanneries use bio-based chemicals and closed-loop water systems only, a real breakthrough in our industry.”

PRODUCT: This is a product almost in 100% wool. This means that the product is almost 100% compostable. We use wool-thread mixed in the flatlock-seam. Our goal is to replace all synthetic fibres with natural and degradable fibers.
