We asked the Brands a few questions about their product and their company.
This is what they told us:

Abisko Trekking Tights Pro W are technical trekking tights with high-stretch Cordura over the rear and knees. Amazingly comfortable with excellent freedom of movement thanks to both the opaque, double-knitted stretch fabric and well-worked-through fit. This model is a new version of Fjällräven’s much-appreciated Abisko Tights that has been completely re-worked with improved features, fit and materials. For example, sustainability and functionality are considerably strengthened with a new, moisture-wicking stretch fabric made with recycled polyester. After following user feedback and in-depth discussions within the all-female design team, the fit has been improved with a higher, more comfortable waistline and flattering cut over the thighs. This makes for trekking tights that look and feel great on a wide range of body types, giving women full freedom to pursue their outdoor aspirations. The leg pockets are angled for easier access and large enough for a map if heading into the unknown. Other smart features include water-repellent Cordura stretchreinforcements for extra protection in rough/damp terrain, and 7/8-length legs that fit really well into socks and hiking boots.

What makes your product a perfectly developed PIECE OF GEAR FOR WOMEN?

Women‘s bodies vary a lot and many find it difficult to find well-fitting trousers with a fixed waist made from woven fabrics. This is why tights have become so widely appreciated, but until Fjällräven released their first trekking tights in 2017 there weren‘t any options that could withstand the rigours of long-distance trekking. This Pro version takes women’s trekking even further, offering an even better fit, higher sustainability and improved fabric functionality.

The fundamentals of Fjällräven’s approach are defined by our mission statement and vision, which put sustainability at the core of everything we do. Our strategy is followed up and expressed in our sustainability policy; the Fjällräven Way (can be submitted on request). The strategy is then integrated into goals and plans regarding sustainable design, sustainable material choices and sustainable production management. We also limit our own carbon footprint and take part in community activities with the aim of inspiring more people to spend time in nature. Our design policy focuses on functional design with minimum impact, with timelessness and durability as focal points. Choice of materials is regulated in a Preferred Materials List, where materials are ranked based on an aggregate of several global sustainability indexes. Production is regulated by our Code of Conduct as well as a Restricted Materials List (can be submitted on request). As a company, Fjällräven submits reports annually, according to GRI, to the Fenix Sustainability Report (http://www.fenixoutdoor.se/hallbarhet/) The main fabric is made with recycled polyester. Bonded details are easy to repair and relaminate.

"We know there are FUN FACTS and / or a BACKSTORY! Please share!"

Several factors contributed to Fjällräven deciding to make a new version of their much-appreciated trekking tights that were originally released in 2017. Firstly, user feedback and trail tests had sparked ideas on details that could be refined. Then Fjällräven‘s conviction that trekking tights are really great on the trails was further strengthened; research confirms that women today appreciate close-to-body stretch garments and that they really work in the outdoors. Finally, Fjällräven wanted to strengthen the sustainability aspects with recycled components and a fabric combination that works better together. An all-female design team was formed and has had in-depth discussions on every detail of the tights, from the stitching to feature design. Prototypes have been tested on mountain trails, climbing faces and in more day-to-day urban settings, and the results have been extremely positive.
